Youm-e-Takbeer celebrated with national pride in Umerkot

Umerkot, May 28, 2025 – AWARE, in partnership with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), organized a spirited ceremony in Mian Jan Mohammad Walhari village to mark Youm-e-Takbeer, the historic day when Pakistan emerged as a nuclear power. The event aimed to honor the nation’s defense achievements, foster patriotism, and inspire the youth with the spirit of national resilience.
A Gathering of Pride and Unity
The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, civil society representatives, and local residents. The chief guest, Mir Hassan Arisar, Deputy District Education Officer (Secondary), reflected on the significance of May 28, 1998, when Pakistan conducted its nuclear tests in Chagai.
“This day marks a defining moment in our history, making Pakistan’s defense invincible,” he stated, praising the contributions of the country’s scientists and armed forces.
Tributes to National Heroes
Rajab Ali Samejo, Project Manager at AWARE, welcomed the attendees and paid homage to Pakistan’s martyrs and soldiers. “Our nation stands firm in its commitment to peace and security. Today, we celebrate unity, strength, and the sacrifices that made us a nuclear power,” he said.
Imdad Ali Arain, Station House Officer (SHO) of Dhoronaro, encouraged the youth to embrace

education and contribute to Pakistan’s progress. “You are the architects of tomorrow—equip yourselves with knowledge to lead the nation forward,” he urged.
Cultural Performances and Student Engagement
The ceremony featured patriotic tableaus, songs, and speeches by students, including a moving address by Manoj Kumar, which resonated deeply with the audience. Educationist Niaz Ali Arisar stressed the need to instill national pride and awareness of Pakistan’s strategic milestones in the younger generation.
A Patriotic Conclusion
The event concluded with a special prayer for Pakistan’s prosperity and the unity of the Muslim world, followed by the flag-hoisting ceremony and the national anthem. The gathering stood as a testament to the enduring spirit of patriotism across diverse segments of society.
