The TeslaTakedown movement has called for worldwide protests against Tesla on Saturday, March 29, as backlash grows against CEO Elon Musk’s political involvement.
Once the leading electric vehicle brand, Tesla has faced declining sales, stock drops, and increasing demonstrations, some of which have turned violent.
Organizers are urging peaceful protests at Tesla showrooms, along with boycotts of Tesla vehicles and stock. “Take action at Tesla showrooms everywhere. Sell your Teslas, dump your stock, join the picket line,” the movement’s website states. “Hurting Tesla is stopping Musk. Stopping Musk will help save lives and our democracy.”
The TeslaTakedown protests are expected to take place globally, not just in the U.S., reflecting widespread frustration with Musk’s influence. Demonstrators argue that targeting Tesla’s business is necessary to counter his political impact.
Tesla has yet to issue an official response to the planned demonstrations.
