World Polio Day: Seminar for awareness about polio vaccination in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, October 24 – All social organizations must work together to eradicate polio. These views were expressed by Abdul Latif Sheikh, President of Bhai Khan Welfare, while addressing an awareness seminar held at the Welfare’s central office on the occasion of World Polio Day.
The event was attended by Founder General Secretary Haji Muhammad Yaseen Arain, Senior Vice President Khan Aftab Ahmed Khan, Vice President Shahid Rajput, Finance Secretary Naseemullah Khan, Second Vice President Haji Muhammad Ismail Sheikh, Latifabad Taluka Chairman Haji Abdul Hameed Mitho, Joint Secretary Muhammad Ismail Sheikh, Vice Chairman Akram Shah, Vice President Allah Ditta Qureshi, Younus Abbasi, Muhammad Sameer, Hassan Lala, and Muhammad Hanif Sheikh, along with people from various walks of life.
Speaking on the occasion of World Polio Day, Abdul Latif Sheikh said that polio is an incurable disease, and the only way to prevent it is through two drops of the polio vaccine.
Founder Haji Muhammad Yaseen Arain emphasized that parents must ensure their innocent, flower-like children are protected from permanent disability by giving them the two drops of the polio vaccine. He added that nine cases of polio have been reported in Sindh this year, including one from Hyderabad, which is a matter of concern.
He further said that it is our collective responsibility to support the national campaign, assist the polio teams, and raise awareness among parents who refuse vaccination so they can understand the dangers of this crippling disease and strengthen the hands of the district administration.
Addressing the seminar, Khan Aftab Ahmed Khan, Shahid Rajput, Haji Muhammad Ismail Sheikh, and others said that if all stakeholders join hands in a united effort, the eradication of this deadly disease is indeed possible.
