UNSC strongly condemns terrorist attack on school bus in Khuzdar

New York, May 23,2025– The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has vehemently condemned the recent terrorist attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, Pakistan, describing it as a “heinous and cowardly” act.

The attack, which occurred earlier this week near Zero Point on the Quetta-Karachi highway, targeted a bus transporting students to the Army Public School in Khuzdar Cantonment. Officials confirmed that at least six people, including three students, were killed, while over 40 others—mostly students—were injured. At least a dozen victims remain in critical condition, with 15 injured girls among those hospitalized.

Security forces have pledged to pursue the perpetrators relentlessly. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir visited the injured in Quetta, expressing solidarity with the victims’ families.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif accused “Indian proxies” of involvement, stating that Pakistan possesses evidence linking New Delhi to the attack and will present it to the international community.

In an official statement, the UNSC expressed deep condolences to the victims’ families and the Pakistani government, wishing a swift recovery for the injured. The council emphasized that terrorism in all forms poses a grave threat to global peace and security, calling for accountability for those responsible—including perpetrators, organizers, financiers, and sponsors.

The UNSC urged all nations to cooperate with Pakistan in bringing the attackers to justice, reaffirming that terrorism is unjustifiable under any circumstances. It also stressed the importance of adhering to the UN Charter and international law in combating such threats.
