7 Robbery suspects escape from police lockup in Punjab

Bahawalnagar, April 1, 2025: Seven robbery suspects escaped from the CIA police station.

According to a police spokesperson, three of the seven escaped suspects have been re-arrested.
Police say the search for the remaining four fugitives is ongoing.

The police spokesperson stated that the officers responsible for negligence in this matter have been suspended and charged.

The spokesperson further added that legal action will be taken against the suspended officials.

4 Detained Suspects Killed
In another incident, four detained suspects were killed in an alleged police encounter on the Northern Bypass in Bahawalpur.

Police claimed that the suspects were killed by gunfire from their own accomplices.
Police stated that the suspects were accused of raping and murdering a 10-year-old girl.

Police reported that the suspects were being brought back to the station after recovery when their own accomplices opened fire, killing all four.

The bodies of the four suspects have been shifted to the hospital.
