Savand, Sundarani dispute resolved thru jirga, fine over 63.6 m on both tribes

Ghotki July 5,2024- The ongoing conflict between the Savand and Sundarani clans in Ghotki was resolved after two years by a Jirga.
Sources say that the dispute was resolved in a Jirga by MNA Ali Gohar Mahar and Syed Khursheed Shah in Gohar Palace of Khangarh, a fine of 63.6 million was imposed on Savand and Sundarani tribes.
Jirga sources say that a fine of 3 crore 21 lakh rupees was imposed on the Sundarani tribe for the murder of 13 people of the Savand community, a fine of Rs 3 crore 15 lakh was imposed on the Savand community for the murder of 11 people of the Sundarani community.
Sources say that a fine of one crore rupees has been imposed for the murder of Professor Ajmal Sawand and Advocate Noor Elahi Sundarani.
It should be remembered that in April last year, Professor Ajmal Sawand of IBA University Sukkur was killed in the same tribal rivalry.
