PID Karachi Welcomes DGPR Irum Tanweer After Umrah Pilgrimage
KARACHI, July 17, 2025: Director General Public Relations (DGPR) PID Karachi, Mrs. Irum Tanweer, received a warm welcome upon her return to Karachi after performing Umrah in Saudi Arabia.
Officers of the Press Information Department (PID) and the Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications (DEMP) greeted her with a bouquet and congratulated her with heartfelt messages of “Umrah Mubarak.”
Mrs. Tanweer, who spent the past two weeks in Saudi Arabia, shared sacred gifts—Tabarrukat—including a variety of dates and bottles of Ab-e-Zamzam with her colleagues. In her remarks, she expressed that she had prayed for all PID officers during the pilgrimage, believing that prayers offered after such a spiritual journey hold special significance.
Irum Tanweer reflected on the personal transformation she experienced during Umrah, highlighting that such journeys often inspire individuals to embrace piety and spiritual devotion. “I sincerely pray that all my colleagues may one day receive the blessing of undertaking this sacred journey,” she said.
During her stay in Saudi Arabia, Mrs. Tanweer also met with Mr. Muhammad Irfan, Press Counsellor at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah. Mr. Irfan, a Grade-19 officer of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, commended the arrangements provided by the Saudi government for Umrah and Hajj pilgrims.
Among those present to welcome Mrs. Tanweer were Director Tahir Nawaz, Director Mohammad Khalid Mairaj Abbasi, Deputy Directors Nouman Ahmed, Shazim Akhter, Maqbool Sandheelo, and other senior officials from PID and DEMP.
