KARACHI March 31,2025- Pakistanis across the nation are observing Eid ul Fitr with deep religious devotion and cherished cultural customs, offering prayers for the country’s unity, peace, and prosperity.

The festivities commenced with special Eid prayers at mosques and open prayer grounds, where worshippers prayed for the nation’s advancement and security.

Eid ul Fitr is a joyous occasion marked by family reunions, traditional clothing, and the exchange of gifts and sweets. Special festive dishes, including sheer khurma and savory meat preparations, are enjoyed, while children delight in receiving Eidi from their elders.

The country’s leaders called on citizens to remember the less fortunate and extend charitable support. President Asif Ali Zardari conveyed warm Eid greetings to the nation and the Muslim world, stressing the importance of sharing the festival’s blessings.

“We must fulfill our duties of Zakat, charity, and Fitrana to ensure that everyone can partake in Eid’s happiness,” he said, describing the occasion as a divine reward for the fasting and worship of Ramadan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his Eid message, emphasized the festival’s core values of joy, gratitude, solidarity, and compassion. He encouraged the nation to uphold the spirit of patience and sacrifice beyond the holy month.

Eid prayers were also offered at the Governor House Sindh, where Governor Kamran Tessori, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Farooq Sattar, and others participated.

Similarly, at the Polo Ground in Karachi, the Mayor of Karachi along with other prominent political and social figures joined the Eid congregation.

Sindh Governor Tessori apologizes for Karachi dumper accidents

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has publicly apologized to the people of Karachi for the recent dumper truck accidents, stating, “I apologize to Karachi’s citizens for these incidents. Over 100 people have been crushed under dumpers—such tragedies don’t happen in any other country.”

He revealed that he had written letters to the Chief Justice of Pakistan and the President regarding the dumper accidents. “After Eid ul Fitr, we will finalize a future course of action,” he added.

Governor Tessori emphasized, “We didn’t make promises ourselves—we’re working on others’ promises.” Taking a veiled dig at past leadership, he said, “This isn’t the governorship where the Prime Minister made big claims, but he couldn’t fulfill. Now, under Khalid Maqbool’s nomination, this is the governorship providing IT education to 50,000 students.”
