8 Terrorists killed as Pakistan thwarts infiltration attempt on Afghan Border: ISPR

Pakistan’s security forces killed eight terrorists and wounded four others while thwarting an infiltration attempt from Afghanistan in North Waziristan, the military’s media wing reported on Sunday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that troops detected a group of terrorists (khwarij) attempting to cross the Pakistan-Afghanistan border near Hassan Khel late on April 5-6. After an intense firefight, security forces successfully repelled the attack, killing eight militants and injuring four.

Rising Terrorism in Pakistan
Pakistan has seen a surge in terrorist activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, since the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ended its ceasefire with the government in November 2022.

ISPR’s Statement
The ISPR confirmed that security forces “effectively engaged” the militants, preventing their infiltration. “Eight khwarij were sent to hell, while four were injured,” the statement read.
