Houses and Shops Demolished in Karachi’s Afghan Camp
KARACHI: Police on Wednesday completed an operation at the Afghan Camp located along the Northern Bypass, demolishing more than 300 illegally constructed houses and shops.
According to DIG West Irfan Baloch, the operation faced resistance from some residents; however, police successfully carried out their task. He added that several individuals were taken into custody during the operation.
DIG Baloch stated that no one would be allowed to occupy government land illegally, and police personnel will remain deployed in the area around the clock.
He further said that the operation will resume Thursday morning and is expected to continue for the next few days.
