Karachi, March 20, 2025 – Ombudsman Sindh Mohammad Sohail Rajput has approved the recruitment of fresh graduates on merit-based internships and contracts to address the shortage of manpower in the institution’s regional offices.

The decision was announced during a high-level meeting chaired by Rajput at the provincial secretariat to evaluate the performance of regional directors over the past two months.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Secretary Mansoor Abbas Rizvi, Director General Akhtar Hussain Bugti, and Registrar Masood Ishrat, with regional directors participating via video link. During the session, Ombudsman Rajput emphasized the need to expedite the resolution of pending public complaints and increase the number of grievances addressed by regional offices.

Ombudsman Sindh Mr Rajput highlighted the importance of public awareness campaigns to achieve these goals, suggesting collaborations with open courts (Khulli Kacheris), seminars at universities and colleges, and partnerships with NGOs. He reiterated the department’s core mission to provide free and prompt redressal of public grievances against government departments. “Any delay or excuse in resolving complaints will only lead to public disappointment and dissatisfaction,” he stated.

The recruitment of fresh graduates on merit-based internships and contracts aims to strengthen the workforce in regional offices, ensuring efficient service delivery and timely resolution of public complaints across Sindh. The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to enhancing the institution’s performance and addressing public concerns effectively.
