Mayor Murtaza Wahab: All Karachi roads to be restored within Two Months
Karachi (Staff Reporter): Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has announced that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has begun work on 106 Karachi roads.
Speaking to the media after inspecting various areas, Wahab said that KMC had constructed roads up to Malir Kala Board and Kokhra Par, and is currently building a road leading to Model Colony. He added that work on Preedy Street would be completed today, while parts of Shahrah-e-Faisal would also undergo repairs.
Wahab noted that development work is underway on internal roads in suburban areas, with the restoration of all city roads expected to be completed within two months.
He emphasized that Karachi’s citizens deserved accountability and that there would be “no compromise on transparency.”
The mayor further remarked that MQM’s message was that “work cannot be done from Islamabad alone,” urging Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to visit Karachi not just for one night, but for several days, and to demonstrate generosity toward the city.
