A long march from Khuzdar to Quetta is underway, organized by the Balochistan National Party (BNP), against the arrests of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leaders, including Maharang Baloch and Sami Din Baloch, among others.
According to BNP’s central leader Agha Hassan Baloch, the long march began yesterday from Khuzdar under the leadership of party chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal, demanding the release of BYC leaders. The participants reached Mastung last night after passing through Kalat and Surab. However, they claimed that obstacles were placed near Lak Pass to prevent them from proceeding to Quetta.
He stated that the party chief, along with other leaders and workers, are currently at Lak Pass. Today at 12 PM, the party will announce its future course of action. Meanwhile, detention of BYC leader Sami Din Baloch has been challenged in the Sindh High Court.
The petitioner’s lawyer said that a two-member bench will hear the plea against Sami Din Baloch Baloch’s detention tomorrow. Sami Din Baloch was arrested on Monday during a protest.
