ISPR Director General, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, revealed that India launched a wave of drone incursions on the night of May 7 and 8, targeting nine Pakistani cities, including Lahore, Karachi, and Gujranwala. The drones were successfully intercepted and shot down by Pakistan’s air defense systems, though the attacks resulted in civilian casualties.

Details of India Drone Incursion and Casualties

The Pakistani military confirmed that the drones involved in the India drone incursion were aimed at various urban centers, including Rawalpindi, Attock, Bahawalpur, Chakwal, and others. The drone debris is being collected for forensic examination.

One civilian was martyred, and five others were injured in these attacks, including four soldiers in Lahore and one individual in Miano, Sindh. Despite the casualties, the Pakistan Armed Forces were quick to respond, ensuring that all drones were downed before reaching their intended targets.

Provocations and International Violations

Lieutenant General Chaudhry condemned the Indian provocations, calling them a violation of international norms and a threat to regional peace. He further accused India of carrying out airstrikes on May 6 and 7, which caused civilian deaths and injuries, including children. He emphasized that Pakistan has shown restraint but remains prepared to defend its sovereignty. He urged the international community to take action against India’s increasing aggression.
