A Night of Strength, Stories, and Sisterhood Held at Umerkot

Umerkot. December 03, 2025. AWARE organized an inspiring women-led and women-focused gathering under the serene night sky of Walhar, creating a powerful space for dialogue, reflection, and cultural celebration. The event brought together women from diverse backgrounds to share their stories, challenges, and visions for a more inclusive and supportive environment for women and girls across local communities.

On the occasion, poetess Khalida Muneer, Ghazal Sindhi, Nasreen Qambrani, Rabia Rehman, and several other distinguished speakers addressed the participants, highlighting issues related to empowerment, social inclusion, and community leadership. Renowned folk artist Mai Dhai captivated the audience with soulful cultural songs, adding vibrancy and warmth to the evening. Participant women thoroughly enjoyed the interactive and energetic atmosphere.
Centered around a glowing bonfire, the gathering provided a safe and uplifting environment where women could openly voice their opinions, exchange experiences, and explore collective solutions. As conversations of hope and resilience mingled with laughter and music, the event reinforced a clear message: when women unite, communities transform.
This event was organized as part of the 16 Days of Activism under the Aawaz-II Project, supported by Care International and funded by FCDO. The initiative reflects a continued commitment to advancing women’s empowerment, strengthening community cohesion, and promoting meaningful social change. Together, we rise. Together, we lead. Together, we create a future where every girl and woman thrives, the participants reiterated the mission and ended the cultural event with local songs.
