Islamabad police official arrested under Official Secret Act
ISLAMABAD: A police official Zahoor Ahmed, who has been missing for several days in Islamabad, was produced in court by the FIA on Tuesday.
Islamabad Additional Sessions Judge, Faizan Haider Gilani handed over the accused to FIA on a one-week physical remand.
ASI Zahoor Ahmed was posted at Golra police station, a case has been registered under the Official Secret Act. Terrorism sections have also been included in the FIR lodged at the FIA Counter Terrorism Wing.
The FIR states that the ASI met the foreign diplomatic agent on Jinnah Avenue and provided details of an inquiry. The ASI also reportedly received bribes for providing important secrets.
According to the spokesperson of Islamabad Police, the FIA has taken ASI Zahoor Ahmed into custody and started investigation.
Three lawyers Jawad Adil, Sufyan Akram Cheema and Imran Feroze Advocate appeared in the court on behalf of the accused.
