Protesters burn house of Sindh Interior Minister Lanjar
In Moro city of district Naushehro Feroze, enraged protesters set fire to the house of Sindh Interior Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar.
The protesters first attacked the provincial minister’s house, vandalized it, and then set fire to the household belongings.
When police arrived at the scene, the protesters pelted them with stones. Two trailers were also set ablaze. During clashes with the police, three officers, including an SHO, were injured.
To disperse the violent crowd, police resorted to aerial firing. When injured officers tried to seek help at Moro Hospital, the angry mob forced them to turn back.
One protester was killed while another was critically injured.
According to police, the protesters, who were demonstrating against the canal project, have now dispersed.
Sindh Interior Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has sought detailed reports from the SSP of Naushahro Feroze and directed strict action against elements challenging the authority of the law.
