Islamabad – Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, stated on Tuesday that India has not provided a “shred of evidence” to support its allegations against Pakistan regarding the Pahalgam attack, accusing New Delhi of engaging in cross-border terrorism inside Pakistan.

Tensions between Pakistan and India have sharply escalated since the April 22 attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists. The attack was one of the deadliest in the disputed region since 2000. While a Kashmir-based militant group initially claimed responsibility, it later denied involvement.

“No Evidence, Only Baseless Allegations”
Lt Gen Chaudhry emphasized that despite seven days passing since the incident, India has failed to present any proof linking Pakistan to the attack. Instead, he revealed Pakistan’s findings on India’s state-sponsored terrorism network, including:

Arrest of an Indian-trained terrorist near Jhelum with an IED, mobile phones, and cash.

Recovery of an Indian drone and Rs1 million from the suspect’s residence.

Forensic evidence linking the operation to Indian army officers, including Major Sandeep Verma and Subedar Sukvinder.

Audio Proof of Indian Army’s Involvement
The DG ISPR played an audio clip of an Indian army major discussing terror financing and operations, calling it “irrefutable evidence of state-sponsored terrorism.” The officer allegedly directed attacks from Balochistan to Lahore, with drones used for IED deliveries.

Post-Pahalgam Terror Surge & Border Clashes
Chaudhry warned that after the Pahalgam attack, India activated sleeper cells and banned groups like TTP to escalate violence. Recently, Pakistani forces killed 71 terrorists, including 54 attempting to infiltrate from Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Pakistan shot down an Indian spy drone near the Line of Control (LoC), as cross-border firing continued for a fifth night after years of relative calm.

Pakistan’s Stern Warning
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that Pakistan is “monitoring the situation closely” and will “respond accordingly” to any Indian aggression. When asked if India’s actions were linked to its elections, Naqvi said New Delhi had “many motives.”
