NOSHKI – In a suicide attack on Sunday, five Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were martyred, and at least 12 others were injured when an explosion targeted an FC convoy on the national highway in Noshki, in Balochistan.

Officials confirmed that initial investigations point to a suicide attack as the cause of the blast.

Noshki Station House Officer (SHO) Zafarullah Sumalani stated that evidence from the scene suggests a suicide attacker rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the FC convoy, resulting in the devastating explosion. The injured were rushed to the FC Camp and Noshki Teaching Hospital, where an emergency has been declared to handle the influx of casualties.

SHO Sumalani expressed concerns that the death toll and number of injured could rise, as several of the wounded are in critical condition.

Condemnation and Resolve from Balochistan Leadership

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti strongly condemned the attack and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives. In an official press release, CM Bugti vowed to bring those responsible to justice, stating, “Those who play with the peace of Balochistan will be brought to a tragic end.”

He emphasized that such cowardly attacks would not weaken the resolve of the people or the government. “There is no place for terrorists in Balochistan. Peace will be established at all costs,” Bugti asserted. He reiterated the government’s commitment to eliminating terrorism, saying, “This war will continue till every last terrorist is eliminated.”

The chief minister also paid tribute to the martyrs, acknowledging the sacrifices made by those who laid down their lives for the homeland. “Everyone in Balochistan is indebted to those who shed their blood for this land,” he said.

Government’s Strong Stance Against Terrorism

The Balochistan government, through its spokesperson Shahid Rind, issued a statement condemning the attack and expressing solidarity with the affected families. “Targeting innocent civilians is a brutal act,” the statement read. Rind prayed for the swift recovery of the injured and extended condolences to the families of the deceased.

The statement further highlighted the attempts by “enemy elements” to destabilize the country but affirmed that such acts of terrorism would not dampen the morale of the people. “We stand with the affected families in their hour of grief,” Rind said, reiterating the government’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring peace in the region.

As investigations continue, security forces have been directed to intensify efforts to maintain stability and bring the perpetrators to justice.
