Pakistani designer HSY makes his Hollywood debut in Disney+ series Deli Boys, styling lead actors and appearing on-screen in episodes 8 and 9.

Renowned Pakistani couturier Hassan Sheheryar Yasin (HSY) has officially stepped into Hollywood, marking a new milestone in his career. With Disney+’s latest series Deli Boys, HSY not only designed costumes for the show but also made his on-screen debut, becoming the first Pakistani designer to achieve this feat.

Deli Boys, directed by Ahmed Ibrahim and Jenni Konner (Girls), premiered on March 6 on Hulu and Disney+, delivering a darkly comedic and thrilling narrative centered around legacy, crime, and family drama. The show stars Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh as two privileged Pakistani-American brothers, Mir and Raj, who are suddenly thrust into their late father’s criminal empire after his unexpected death. The story follows their struggle to deal with tax evasion, drug smuggling, and dangerous underworld dealings.

In addition to HSY’s Hollywood debut, Tan France of Queer Eye fame also appears in the series as a London-based gang leader. HSY has designed outfits for Poorna Jagannathan, Shaikh, and Zainne Saleh in episodes eight and nine, infusing his signature South Asian aesthetic into the show’s visual storytelling. Fans will also see HSY acting in these episodes, marking a new chapter in his career.

Speaking about the experience, HSY expressed his excitement:
“Designing for Deli Boys has been an exhilarating experience, but making my Hollywood debut in the show makes it even more special. This collaboration is not just about fashion — it’s about representation. Bringing authentic South Asian designs to a global audience in a mainstream Hollywood production is an honour, and I’m thrilled for everyone to witness it.”

Before his Hollywood debut, HSY made his television acting debut in 2021 with Pehli Si Mohabbat on ARY Digital, where he played Akram, a stern and traditional older brother—a role starkly different from his glamorous public persona. His performance was widely praised for its intensity and depth. In 2022, he transitioned to the big screen with Ishrat Made in China, portraying a villain in the action-comedy film.

Deli Boys has been receiving critical acclaim for its humour, grit, and authentic South Asian representation. The show’s unique blend of crime and comedy, combined with strong performances and cultural resonance, has made it a standout addition to Hollywood’s growing South Asian narratives.
