Sindh Free Solar Panels 2025: Distribution to Be Completed by July
The Sindh government will distribute 200,000 free solar panels by July 31, 2025, under a World Bank-backed initiative.
Karachi – The Sindh free solar panels 2025 initiative will provide 200,000 solar home systems to deserving households, with distribution set to be completed by July 31, 2025. Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah announced the project timeline during a meeting to review progress, emphasizing that the initiative is part of Sindh’s push for renewable energy, supported by the World Bank.
The minister directed officials to distribute 1,600 solar home systems across all districts every month, with 400 solar panels allocated per district every week. Additionally, 50,000 solar panels currently in storage must be delivered within 30 days, with a report submitted to the minister. Special ceremonies will be held in coordination with local administrations to ensure transparent distribution and public awareness.
The Sindh free solar panels 2025 project aligns with the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and follows the directives of the Chief Minister of Sindh to accelerate energy accessibility. The initiative will reduce electricity costs for low-income households and promote sustainable energy solutions in the province.
In a separate development, the Punjab government has also implemented a free solar panel program for residents consuming 100 to 200 units of electricity per month. This initiative, launched by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on December 6, 2024, aims to ease the financial burden of rising energy costs. The deadline for Punjab’s free solar panel scheme was January 5, 2025.
