ISLAMABAD, Nov 24,2023: The Accountability Court in Islamabad has issued a written order to extend the physical remand of the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in connection with the 190 million pound scam.

Judge Muhammad Bashir presided over the case and issued a detailed five-page order. The extension of the physical remand was requested by Deputy Prosecutor General of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi, who applied for an additional 10 days.

As per the court order, Ali Zafar Advocate, representing the accused, had provided relevant records to NAB. The National Accountability Bureau officials argued in their request for an extension that a thorough investigation into the money transfers needed to be conducted by the national treasury.

They asserted that additional time was required to complete the investigation and bring the case to a final conclusion.

The 190 million pound scam has garnered widespread attention, and the extension of the PTI Chairman’s physical remand indicates the gravity of the allegations.

The court’s decision to grant the extension underscores the need for a comprehensive investigation to uncover the details surrounding the financial irregularities in question. The case continues to unfold, with the Accountability Court playing a pivotal role in determining the course of justice.
